What is health economics consulting?
It helps health-technology and pharma companies quantify the economic value of their products for investors, payers, and regulators. The output is typically a cost-effectiveness or budget-impact model with supporting evidence, ready for an HTA submission or a commercial conversation.
Do you submit to Pharmac?
Yes. Pharmac submissions are a core part of our work in New Zealand. We also cover MSAC and PBAC in Australia, NICE in the UK, ICER in the US, CADTH and pCODR in Canada, and several European and Asia-Pacific agencies on request. See our case studies.
How does a fractional retainer work?
We agree a monthly retainer for a defined engagement window — typically three to nine months. The retainer covers principal-level access, a weekly working cadence, and full HEX Platform™ access for your team. See how we work for the full engagement model.
What is HEX Platform?
The modelling environment we run every engagement on. It records every parameter source, every distribution, and every change as an append-only audit trail. Client teams have read access throughout the engagement and can interrogate any assumption back to its source. See security & compliance for how it is governed.
How long do engagements take?
Most engagements run between three and nine months. Shorter engagements (a focused Series A reimbursement-pathway asset) can be six to eight weeks. Longer engagements (a full submission cycle with response-to-query support) can run twelve months or more.
Where is client data stored?
Client modelling data is hosted on managed infrastructure in New Zealand. Data does not leave NZ without a specific written arrangement. Operational metadata (logs, error monitoring) may be processed by sub-processors outside NZ — the current list is available on request.
What countries do you cover?
HTA frameworks we work in include NZ (Pharmac), Australia (MSAC, PBAC), UK (NICE), US (ICER, AMCP), Canada (CADTH, pCODR, INESSS), Germany (G-BA, IQWiG), France (HAS), Sweden (TLV), the Netherlands (ZIN), Belgium (NIHDI), South Korea (HIRA), Japan (MHLW), and Singapore (MOH).
Can clients access the models we build?
Yes. Read access is built into the engagement. Your team can walk every parameter back to its source, inspect every scenario, and see the full audit trail of changes. Edit access is reserved for the HEC team during the build to keep the model coherent.
What does it cost?
We price per engagement, not per seat. An indicative monthly retainer range is shared during the scoping call and reflects jurisdictions covered, model complexity, and engagement length. See the pricing page for the full structure.
How quickly can we start?
A discovery call is usually bookable inside a working week, calendar permitting. Kickoff timing follows once we've agreed scope. We work to compressed timelines when a published HTA window requires it.
